COMFORT WILD AND FRAGILE

Glasgow sibling duo Comfort release 'Wild and Fragile' from their highly anticipated new album What’s Bad Enough? and announce a UK tour in May to coincide with its release. Recorded with Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub) at Castle of Doom studios, 'Wild and Fragile' is a reflection on singer Natalie's experience of coming out as a transwoman and how the once monumental change levels out into the everyday, set to wildly flourishing software synths and pulsing drums - "From those nights/ Secretly using chat rooms/ My mum’s clothes/ Like globes on hangers/ And I had to get my friend to guess/ I still couldn’t quite say it/ With all the courage 20 pounds could afford/ All it took was a couple of words" - poetic and deeply moving lyricism that references her experiences with tenderness and understanding. Check out the video shot by the band on a 00s blackberry to capture the aesthetic of when the pair grew up, with many of the experiences referenced in the lyrics. What’s Bad Enough? is set for release on FatCat Records on May 5th preorder the record and go and see them live in a city near you, tour dates here. -Toby Evans-Jesra
